Mr. Sommerville completed courses in mechanical & electrical drafting Algonquin College of Applied Technology in 1976. His courses included Strength of Materials, Physics, Descriptive Geometry, Electronics, Machine Shop, Math. In 1989 he also completed a course on Quick-Pen and in 1993 a course in AutoCAD r.12.
Chris has 25 years of drafting & design experience working at manufacturing firms, engineering firms and mechanical contractors where he held numerous Senior Draftsperson positions.
In 1990 Chris began his own company offering drafting services.
In June 1994 Chris became an associate with D.D.D.G. Engineering Services to provide mechanical drafting & design services.

Chris has experience in the following drafting projects: structural steel, stairs, platforms, catwalks, steel fabrication, process, piping & equipment layouts, sanitary & storms sewers, sewage treatment facilities, pumping stations, roads & subdivisions, site inspector, HVAC, building design & modifications, installation & interference drawings, production line equipment, specification manuals & documents, site surveys & measuring, tank design, machined parts & cable runs.

| Acid Plant |
| |
Chris took part in a job to complete over 500 isometric piping fabrication & installation drawings, boom truck lift drawings, jacketed & steam traced pipe drawings. |

| Blending Plant |
| |
Chris drew approximately 400 isometric drawings and 40 pump & piping layouts, as well as some surveying. |

| Retirement Residence |
| |
This included HVAC Piping interference drawings for 2 wings of 4 floors plus basement mechanical room layouts for a total of 31 drawings. |

| National Headquarters |
| |
This involved drawings for floor sleeving, housekeeping pad, mechanical room layouts for two towers, one 5 floors and the other 6 floors, roof plan layouts, stack tie down, gatehouse interference drawings and others. |

| Chemical Plant |
| |
Various projects here included diamine plant piping isometrics and main drawing, as-builts, unloading station design & drafting, refining area deficiency drawings, trace all nitrogen lines through plant and draw “E” size isometric drawings, steam traced piping drawings, cyane tower drawings and other tank drawings. |

Chris drew all floor sleeve drawings, underground piping drawings, equipment layouts, housekeeping pad layouts, FPR duct drawings and piping isometric drawings. |
